The Best ever

George BestPicture credit

The former class ! The legend of Manchester United strikes a pose in old school clothes. Simple style but with a lot of class also the girl seems to succumb to his charm. George had not only charm, he also had a lot of talent.

George Best was a Nothern Irish (from Belfast) professional footballer who built a fantastic winger carrer in Manchester during the 1960’s and the 1970’s. He played 470 matches with the Red Devils and scored 179 goals.  During this 11 years with Manchester, he especially won the European Cup in 1968 and was named the same year the European Footballer of the Year and FWA (Football Writers Association who exist for English football only) Footballer of the Year.

For the Nothern Ireland George Best is considerated as a god. The Irish Football Association said about him that he is “the greatest player to ever pull on the green shirt of Nothern Ireland.

A common description of his place in football history is summed up by the quote “Maradona good, Pelé better, George Best”.

George died in 2005 as a result of alcoholism and long disease at the age of 59. According to the BBC, Best was remembered by mourners at his public funeral held in Belfast as “the beautiful boy with a beautiful game“.

The coldest man

Arsene Wenger

Arsène doesn’t seem to worry about his style. His large jacket hides all the style of his suit. This is absolutely not fashion, but I think that Arsene has others corcerns.

Arsène Wenger is the French manager of Arsenal FC in Premier League since 1996. So, he is the club’s longest-serving manager ans most successful. He led Arsenal to 11 trophies since his beginning.

Arsène has been described by BBC Sport as a coach who “has spent his career buiding teams that combine the accumulation of silverware with a desire to entertain and attack” and by the Daily Mail as “a purist, dedicated to individual and collective technical quality“.

This is an Arsène’s interview on this video. The is the Part. 1 and you can see the Part. 2 here.

Saga Africa

Yannick Noah

Noah’s style is a kind of perfect mixture between a french touch and Cameroom legacy. He looks very cool and I think he is. The French favorite person appears on stage with a class which requires compliance. And yet this singer is a former tennis player who one day, in 1983, give France its first Rolland Garros Franchman winner. And for a French it’s enormous…

He’s of course  remembered for winning Rolland Garros in 1983 but also to played on France’s Davis Cup for eleven years. In 1982, he reached the final of the competition with France team but France lost 4-1 against the USA.

Yannick Noah didn’t stop there with the Davis Cup. In 1991 he was the captain of French team which won the Davis Cup for the first time in 59 years.

It was a faboulus moment for French people and the Saga Africa song echoed on the final court. Remember…

After his tennisman career Yannick Noah devotes his time to music and charity organizations. He’s a very popular music performer who was able to fill in Stade de France for a big concert that was attended by close to 80 000 spectators. It was the 25 September 2010. This is an excerpt on the video :

He is also the father of Joakim Noah, the NBA player of Chicago Bulls.

Out of style

Michael Schumacher

God bless you Michael because with this clothes you’re close to hell. The shiny suit is not of best taste and crocodile shoes doesn’t help. The best Formula One driver in all-time doesn’t know how to dress. What a pity…

Fortunately, Michael Schumacher has others talents that fashion. Now retired, “Schumi” is a seven-time Formula One World Champion, that always is a record. Schumacher is a legend of Formula One and he holds many record in this event including most championships, race victories, fastest laps, pole positions, points scored and most races won in a single season (13 in 2004). Other great performance, he became in 2002 the only Formula One driver in history to finish in the top three in every race of a season and then also broke the record for most consecutive podium finishes.

During his career Michael Schumacher won 91 races and made 155 podiums. So he won the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award twice, in 2002 and 2004.

Alien Mario

Mario Balotelli

Difficul to do worse… This style is absoluty horrible! I don’t know how Mario Balotelli can dress like that. Even his hair cut is ugly. This guy has a lot of talent but he doesn’t know how to dress.

Mario Balotelli, 22 years old, is an Italian football player who plays currently for Manchester City. He joined Manchester City (51 matches, 20 goals) after three years spent at Internazionale (59 matches, 20 goals) in Serie A. He also played 16 matches with Italy national team and he scored five time.

This player alternates between the best and the worst. During his short career he was suspended several times due to a number of disciplinary problems. For Roberto Mancini, his coach at Inter and Manchester City “the problem is because of his age, he can make some mistakes”. “He’s Mario. He’s crazy – but I love him because he’s a good guy“.

In this video you’ll watch the best and the worst of Mario Balotelli and when we watch this we can see that this guy is born to become a famous striker :

Above is the sun. This the perfect image of pure style, everything is there. Muhammad Ali gives a lesson in style for all sports. Umbrella, three piece suit and old-school Oxford boots form the perfect cockail of style and his hat, up “The People’s Champion” at the top of fashion. We are in the 1960’s…

“I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was”. Lot of people know the American former boxer Cassius Clay alias Muhammad Ali who won at the age of 22 his first World heavyweight Championship from Sonny Liston (youngest World Champion in history). He’s considerated as the greatest boxer in all-time. He fought 61 times in his carrer for a total of 56 victories and 5 defeats.

This photograph is one of the most famous of Muhammad fighting. It was against Sonny Liston for his first World Champion title on the 25th May 1965.

Precocious genius, Ali won the light heavyweight Olympic gold medal at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome at the age of 18. He was involved in several historic boxing game, including them against Joe Frazier or George Foreman. “The Louisville Lip” is famous for his catchphrase that resonates for eternity “float like a butterfly, sting a bee“. Pretentious? Maybe but so true… Look at this :

Dwayne doesn’t Wade in fashion

Dwyane Wade

The least we can say it’s that his style is bold. Although some argue that he’s dressed to impress, Dwayne Wade takes very good. An amazing yellow cardigan and a old-school bow tie to top it all. Nothing to add for the suit, it’s simply class. However I think that Dwayne Wade wear glasses to have an intellectual air because he didn’t need them to shoot on basketball courts.

“D-Wade” is an American basketball player drafted in NBA in 2003, who plays currently for the Miami Heat. He won the 2006 NBA Finals with Miami against Dallas and was named Finals MVP.

“Flash” also won the 2012 NBA Championship when Miami defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder. With his performances he participed to 8 All-Star Games between 2005 and 2012 and won the All-Star Game MVP Award in 2010. Why ? Loot at this amazing video about Dwayne Wade skills :

In 2006, Wade was named “Sportsman of the Year” by Sports Illustrated and Sporting News. At this day, Dwayne Wade is the Miami Heat all-time leading scorer.
